Thanks for the info, I found a set of ute u bolts and plates but didn't realize there was two sizes, I must have got the early model ones as they are the same size as my coupe ones.
$60 down the drain! Haha

Anyone got a spare set off a H165 or H190?
Otherwise I'll try get out to smithfield

Thanks again

Try & find a C20 Vanette with either the H165 or H190 diff & the A series engine & use the U bolts & such from them, or the plates from a late 1200 ute with the H165 diff. I've used both in the past. I know from your photos in the Build section you're in NSW, but if you're in Sydney you could try Northern Wreckers at Londonderry for the C20 stuff, or Graham's Auto Wreckers at Smithfield for the 1200 ute stuff. Good luck, hope this helps, nothing spells embarassment like the diff falling out .

Just an idea can u cut the coupe lower plate and add in a piece of metal. Weld back together and redrill the hole for the centre bolt. Off the top of my head it should work

I've put a H190 complete diff into my coupe that came out of a 1200 sedan, my problem is with the bigger diameter of the axle tubes, the U bolts end up stretched out and won't fit the standard coupe lower mounting plates. I elongated the holes and got them on but they don't tighten up all the way and the U bolts look stressed.

I got some flat plates with the diff, should I weld a bolt to the bottom as a shock mount?

I got a set of ute U bolts and plates as I heard the bolt spacing was wider but still looks like i'd need to elongate them as well.
But they have a bigger stub axle diameter shock mount so it may screw me with the coupe type shocks as they mount to a smaller stub axle.

Any ideas?

cheers
