Draw through for EFI? Or has this morphed into A15TT?

did you ever investigate the prospect of doing a draw through setup? I know the throttle would be a pain but think about how much less piping you'de need to clutter the whole lot up

Yeah right, that makes heaps more sense! I tried the 2 inch blocks, and quite frankly i was less than impressed. Made the whole ride even worse, hitting bump stops when driving the slightest bit fast around corners with uneven road. It was just very rugged and 'jumpy' to drive in the rear.

Ill have to find me some coupe springs then ey!

Ute leafs are totally different, even after the largest leaves are removed.
* 4 leaf: 2 x 6mm thick, 1 x 7mm thick, 1 x 13mm thick
* 5 leaf: 2 x 6mm thick, 1 x 7mm thick, 2 x 10mm thick

Sedan and Coupe have the same Leaf Springs assembly - same part number and same spring constant
* 55020-H1000 Sedan, Coupe
* 3 leaf: 1 x 6mm thick, 2 x 7mm thick

i wouldn't put a welded diff in a road car, i only did that when i was using the ute for autocross. It gave a hell of a lot more control, so i would actually say it's safer in the wet to a decent driver

the ute springs are designed for a 500kg load in the tray, therefore are a lot stiffer than necessary, therefore less traction. coupe springs worked well for me, some say if you take the extra leaf off the ute that makes it the same, though i would love to see that proven by actually testing of spring constants as i am suspicious it may not be true.

well after god knows how long trying to upload a damn picture, i cant. lol
So yes i have a pic, and no i cannot share it haha

60a sounds like a nice box behind carbs, wouldnt risk spending good money on it with the chance it will fry on forced induction. Especially not when you could pay a little more for whats possibly a bullet proof box.
Ive heard of someone putting a K box behind a series? dont know how that works...
Why coupe leafs?
Am considering welding the diff up, but i dont want to write the ute off when the first wet day comes. Perhaps i should get a nice big open bit of ground to test it out a bit and see what it does...

only takes a weekend to assemble a 1200 if you have the bits, its a rolling shell with skyline struts and a h145 in it atm and steering etc is all there

60a is pretty tuff if in good condition from the beginning

the diffs will run for years with a whine, it's just annoying

just cruise around for a second hand celica kit, they come up for sale every now and then

best thing i did to that ute was put coupe leafs in... and weld the diff centre. i just found that dif centre the other day coincidentally

Nice vid, the turbos sound awesome!

The green coupe is that the spare shell?? I thought that was bare, lots of work to get it going if so!

The old man has a supercharged fuel injected a14 but havent found a box for it as yet, did consider purchasing a 60 a close ratio but we're just not convinced it will stand up to the forced induction. Otherwise i would say a 63a box, but theyre rare as hens teeth now...

Ill have to look into a dellow conversion, any hints on sellers/producers?

My h165 has an awful wine to it, ive done 2 seals in either side where the bearings are. Have checked oil seems to be all good. Seems like a decent diff otherwise certainly well suited to the lightweight tail happy ute :P haha
