Prep is the basis to a quality job tho.

If they are new then it is easy as they really only need a good cleaning. If they are uesd it can be a problem as they then need to get rid of the carbon etc. already impregnated in the pipes.

I was quoted $242 last year to do my 4-1 set by HPC.

the headers on my old SS ute were HPC coated (from new).

I was of the opinion it made a pretty noticeable difference to the engine bay heat. Also meant they clean up really well, I had the power steering pump blow the preesure pipe out of the pump body, blasting fluid all over the headers (just after a couple of full power runs on the dyno and then warming the tyres up some , so they were damn hot!). Flames everywhere and melted plastic under the bonnet but the headers came up like new afterwards..

Troy dont forget to get the downpipe section too maybe about 20cm as it helpswith corrosion in that area when removing from then on the flexi tubing works well. Basically the more heat trapped withing the pipe the faster it travels.
