All Datsun 1200s (B110 and B120) came with an 1171cc engine. No matter the year or the body style. Only the PB110 (sunny 1400) came with a different size engine.

OK cheers guys
That leaves one question, I don't know what size A series that original engine is. Is there anyway to check with that number?

You wont need to retro fit rear belts unless you try and engineer it for engine conversion etc later on.
The police most likely will hassle you and not have a clue about the 301 rule. I had dimilar issues when i had a 69 mini. No rear belts and no requirement to fit them. But that was 15 years ago.
I went through it with vic roads a few times after being pulled up for it by police. Yhey said didnt need them.

Condition 301 doesn't let you get away with anything. But it does exempt the car from ADR rules. Just show it to the officer if pulled over.

Its currently registered its all good in terms of that
Just after the info.
eg
Im pulled over would I get in trouble for no rear seat belts?
Does that engine number in anyway indicate what size it is? Eg a12 or a14?
(I know it has a12 or a14 stamped else where im referring specifically to the number)
Does that condition 301 let me get away with anything?

i've seen 5 digit numbers before, not an issue, you seem to be stressing over nothing to me, should be all good. they may want to register as 2 seater if no seat belts in back, you may need to retrofit them, rare spares sell good kits for the mounting points
