Here in the BayArea, in California, gas is about $1.70 to $1.80 a gallon of 91 octane. Thats about 47cents a liter. Expensive by US standards and there are 3 refineries about 25 miles away.
91 octane is the highest you can get in California, without going to the race track. Last year they, bastards, phased out 92.
I dont really look at gas prices anymore... I need gas and I'm going to fill up regardless.

The US has inexpensive gasonline, about $1.35/gallon at the ARCO stations in Oregon and Washington recently. In the last 10 years, big vehicles with poor fuel economy have made a comeback ... people are lining up to buy vehicles with the US "Gas Guzzler" tax ... I think it applies to vehicles that get less than 16 mpg, which is about what vehicles got in the 1960s. To prevent getting this rating, cars like the Corvette were given transmissions with gears 2-4 locked out (unless the throttle is floored, in which case the other gears could be selected).

I did read that Argentina or Venezuela has gas for something like 14 cents/liter ... cheapest in the world.

I think that our country beats any other country in the world for fuel prices...

Here in the UK we are paying about 73.9p per litre.

Thats about $1.50 US
Thats about $1.84 CAN
Thats about $2.58 NZ

Cheap Eh?

-think of me when your filling up for ten bucks

-SLAM

I'll preface this with an apology. I'm too lazy and stubborn to do the gallon to liter and various money conversions, sorry.
I paid $1.49 per gallon for 93 octane last night (9/24/02) at a station right off the highway. It's a bit cheaper farther off the interstate depending on the neighborhood.
