Get that done? Just buy that A14 - it cost less than paying someone to do the same to your A14, and its already done. But it won't go faster than an A12. My stock A12 had no problem doing 75 MPH on the LA freeways. Sure it ran 4500-5000 rpm, but t hat doesn't hurt an A12 (redline is 6000 rpm). If you put the A14 in your 1200 it will still need to rev to the same RPM. You can fit an overdrive transmission to lower the rpms, but getting to higher speeds still means accelerating in 4th gear. Then once you get up to speed, shift into 5th for quieter cruising.

Do you know where I could get that done on an A14? We live in Garden Grove Ca. Have owned a '72,1200 for 33 years. A few days ago broke a rod bearing in our A12A. Don't want to rebuild but put an A14 in it. Being practically run off the freeway with it because it can't sustain high speeds.

Agreed.

On second thought, that appears to be a USA B210 oil pan. It has a mid-sump so you can fit it into a 510 (1600).

Nice! And its just down the road from me. The list price of the custom rocker cover and Weber conversion alone are at the asking price of this engine. Too bad he didn't hot rod the A14 with pistons, cam, headers and Weber side draughts...then he'd have no need to install the Miata engine.

If that Morris World alloy rocker cover comes with it, all is good.

* H89 cylinder head
* Weber 32/36 carburetor

Has an unusual custom sump, but a stock pan can be swapped on easy enough.
