Yeah the wheels sound good. My garage doesnt have any beams so cant do the straps. Will be getting some top rated stands though. Thanks for all the help.

I prefer wheel Ramps but not practical in this situation.

+1 Always chuck the wheels under the corners - so easy

+1 to chucking some spare wheels under the rockers as backup.

I also leave my jack under there too.

This is what I did, it wasn't safe at all. Maybe you could use straps from a carport like I did as a secondary precaution rather than using them as the main support.

I had a shell on jackstands and its safe enough as if it's stripped it probably doesn't weigh more than a few hundred kilos, would not kill you but it would hurt. having said that, unless you want sore shoulders, hitting the whole underside with a wire wheel won't be much fun. You could build a rotisserie easily if you're desperate

Im going to be stripping back the underbody of my sedan and am planning to have the shell up on 4 jack stands. I dont like the idea however of getting under there and using wire wheels etc in case it falls on me. How safe do you think it is on jack stands? I dont really want to spend $1000+ on a rotisserie so what other options do people suggest that would be safer?

Thanks
Trav
