Don't think it will come apart. It's rather annoying because once it's assembled onto the timing case it looks like one piece. I might have to get the water pump polished instead and hope it looks similar to the ceramic coating. Might have to consider a clear coat to prevent it from tarnishing.

The factory service manual say the water pump must never be disassembled. But maybe the GMB is different?

Hi Guys,

Almost ready to put the rest of my engine back together but want to get a few parts ceramic coated. HPC do a polished alloy appearance coating which is reasonably priced when comparing to polishing and wont tarnish over time.

My only issue is that they need the water pump taken apart to do it. I've got a brand new unit from GMB. Can this be done??? Looks like it needs to be pressed out??

Help is much appreciated.
