Likely it won't get better...
Is it a dull heavy knocking thud, or a sharp metallic rap? Does it get quieter or noiser if you rev the engine in neutral? When driving, does it go away when you let up the accelerator pedal?
Reckon I'd take the pan off, and plastigage the main bearings and each con-rod bearing (one at a time) to see if one has too much clearance.
60psi sounds kinda high for oil pressure ... maybe it's the oil pump making the noise?. I think mine usually ran about 40psi at cruising (less at idle). My book doesn't list a spec for that.

I've just rebuilt an A15 for my 1200 Coupe and have a knock coming from the left side of the block under the manifolds - any clues? The oil pressure is 60psi at idle - any clues on what to look for appreciated
