H89 head uses the same valve spring retainers as A12 standard engine
If you are upgrading to dual valve springs, you will need the retainers to fit the valves * For camtech dual springs, use standard A12/H89 retainers * For Nissan GX dual springs, use A12GX retainers OR 1973-up A12/A14/A15 standard retainers
In 1973 the standard retainers were changed to match the GX design. The earlier ones had a groove on the inside for an O-ring to seal against the collets

Just wondering if anyone has valve spring retainers and seats from a late model head? Apparently camtech sells double springs that don't need to use the special and expensive gx retainers
