Welcome on-board Paul / angrywabbit. I thought I recognised the car!

Guys, this is a mean (and bloody fast) little 1200! Paul holds the class record at Mt Cotton.

There are two ute diffs, the early (H145) and the newer (H165). The Bluebird diff mentioned uses the H165 center.

If you have the earlier, any 1200 sedan or coupe diff bolts in. There is a discussion from a couple of weeks ago that explains the slight difference (it's bolt in, but you gotta use the right parts). Use the search box to find it.

The only "drum to drum" diff assemblies that "bolt right in" are B110 (Datsun 1200), B120 (1200 ute) and B210 (120Y) units.

A non-trx nissan bluebird diff centre will bolt in to the ute housing. No need to mess with anything else. Only hassle is the ratio - 3.9:1. There may be others available but it's a minor change from the ute 4.1:1

Hope this helps

Hi Guys, I need some advice on a differential problem. I have a Datsun 1200 ute with a stuffed diff. Very clunky, noisy and huge amounts of backlash.
What I would like to know is what other diffs will BOLT STRAIGHT IN? If I replace it as a unit (drum to drum)what is the best diff to look for?. I am not to worried about ratios etc I just want a nice quiet diff that will not cop much abuse.
Also, any recommendations in Australia to reco a diff and freight it down etc.
Any idea on what price I would be looking at (Estimate)?
Thanks.
