nah no diffrence auto to manual, the sunny vooster and 180b master is a good combo with my brakes which is four wheel discs, with anything less than 4 wheel discs youd have to have pretty skinny legs to need a booster i reckon

I may be wrong, but if I remember correctly Hillman Hunters had a factory remotely mounted booster.
When I got my coupe it had a booster mounted on the passenger strut tower (RHD). It was all a bit untidy so I ripped it out and binned it, my understanding is that if everything is correctly sized you don't need a booster anyway.
Out of interest is there any difference between the manual and auto brake components?

From talking to dattodude (Chris) he said the lancer booster fits with the CA, which is my plans. As for clutch master, nissan vans I'm unsure on the actual model yet to find out. Have in cabin clutch masters, because the 180B clutch master tends to hit the intake plenum. Where as the van's ones are in the cabin, so no hitting issues.
A simple braket is needed to be made up to fit the van's clutch master it hooks up to the steering wheel column support. The resiviour can be modded so you can fill it in he engine bay and not the cabin.
Cheers Damo
PS When I get my clutch master hooked up I'll take pics of it and put it in the tech section

the us equivalent model might be the dodge colt,of about late 70's early 80's,rear wheel drive.i saw a photo of one in a don garlits book once, after it had been rear-ended by a drunk driver,& that car was sold in australia as a galant.they were made by mitsubishi, which was owned by chrysler at the time.it has an adaptor for a two stud at the fire wall to 4 stud at the booster.hope this points you in the right direction.

Hi Matt,
You need to convert your car to RHD ..That'll solve that problem. I'm not aware of a US equivalent. I think the American 70s/80s obsession with big V8s might have not made the US market a good place for the Lancer. So I don't know if there's an equivalent. Can't find any internet photos.

Quote: I don't like to sound like a broken record, but I always recommend the Mitsubishi/Chrysler LA/LB Lancer Booster and Master cylinder. Get the splitter valve too. Works nicely. You can get them for AU$50-60 complete from the wreckers. Uh, what would be the U.S. equivalent model/year? (not that a booster will work on a LHD 1200 anyway).

If you are already running front discs/rear drums, then it will work. I cannot vouch for 4wheel drums. If you can't lock up your brakes underload, then the booster will help. But as we all agree. with the boost, comes loss of feel. So normally the booster is only required with the addition of bigger front discs.

With this setup, would you just remove your standard brake resovior and bolt up the new booster and included res?
How much better would the brakes be with a brake booster? Will the pedal feel be different?
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I was thinking about adding one to my ute depeding on ease of fitment versus actual gains.
Thanks,
Leigh
