I have to admit that I last bought one about 18 months ago from Kilsyth, so they have possibly increased in price since. Its on my 200B daily driver and its fixed all the problems and returns better than 30mpg on the highway.
You've got to remember that the Weber primary choke is bigger than the Datto secondary which is one of the reasons that they are so much better
For $20 each, I reckon you got real good value

where you getting em for 35 i usualy get 45 or 50 quoted to me, but was lucky to pick two up at $20each a while ago

The people going for the twin Hitachi set up are quite right technically.
If you are short of dough at this time ( and who isn't) the Weber at about $35 from a do it yourself wrecker is a good quick fix as the Hitachi/SU pair will probably need the spindles re-bushing and other maintenance which will add to the cost.
On the other hand, you can put the Weber on with a minimum of outlay and get pretty good results.
If you think that second best tomorrow is a better option than first best (twin DCO Weber, Dell'Orto or PHH Solex) somewhere down the track is the answer, then go 32/36 Weber

is a holley g180 the same as a 32/36 carby?

I would go with the twin SU-style Hitachis for these reasons:

- better manifold than the 32/36 (which uses stock manifold)
- being a factory setup, easier to tune for no flat spots
- look more interesting (twin side-draughts)

Another option is the Weber or Dellorto sidedraft setup, this is even better performance especially if you go four throttles. See the tech section article Which Carburetor?

Twin sidedraught Webers are out of my budget for the next year or so but I would still like to upgrade from the stock Hitachi if worthwhile.

I have an A14 with a mild cam and head work, extractors and 2" exhaust.

What I would like to know from the experts is what would be the better option between the SSS L series twin SU's and a Weber 32/36 (Holley 180). Or is there another option?

Is it easy to get a manifold and linkages for the Su's? I know that I can pick up the necessary parts for the Weber or Holley from Autobarn.

I don't care about fuel economy as it is my second car but I do want it to run smoothly without flat spots.
