They stopped in '94 and never made the raised roof version here (luckily). Small advances were made throughout the years. I think '89 saw catalytic converters and '90 saw the addition of a pointless distributer can't remember what year the interior changed from brown to grey or what year the headlights changed.

yeh I've had a look at that site and they look the same as some that were for sale in japan, some of the jap importers in aust. wrer advertising imported 1200 utes 4 sale long&short bed,. are they still being made in japan or have they stopped also??

1400cc, taller cabin, square headlights, front disks, power brakes, 5 speed... few more things. They're about 12-13grand $AU, plus import costs.

Australian sales dried up in 1985 sometime, i have a December '84 ute that seems identical to the 70's ones.

That site is also good to get part numbers for genuine parts (if you can afford them).

can anyone tell me how newer model utes compare to the olderones ,they stopped selling 1200 utes in mid 80's here in austr.Interior, mechanicals,factory options?
