As stated, $1000 isn't out of line for a decent condition original car. If it's exceptionally clean it may bring a bit more. Personally, I think eBay is the only way to get near what it's worth. Advertising it in the local paper won't sell it. Advertising it on some Datsun websites might though? Try Dime Quarterly. Their classifieds are seen by lots of people.

US$1000 would be a good place to start. I know they aren't real plentiful in the West Coast anymore.

Being in CA, you might get the SoCal Datto people excited.

If there's not much rust and it just needs a respray and the chrome polished, and the interior slightly in need of a retrim, then you should get up to US$2000 for it.

I don't recommend Ebay as a place to sell your car. Unless you put US$1800 on it right from the start. Otherwise you'll be letting it go for much less than it's worth.

One good thing is it has no rust because its always been a CA auto, this is realy a three owner auto,

I have a 1971 Datsun 1200 two door sedan, It is in mechanicaly great condition, brakes have just been done new tires, new head on motor, new radator, in fact almost everything has been replaced in drive train and suspension, inside is ok seats need to be redone, headliner good door panels good, exterior dent on drivers side door, stock color of green all chhrome and badges intact. What is this auto worth? I am going to put it up on eBay and need to know were to start. Anyone can you help. I am not real good at Datsuns, I grew up on 57 Chevy's (I am 53)
