OK, theres probably a simple answer to this but will ask anyway.

What the hell causes the engine to run on after it has been switched off?? It has only started in the last few dayz when i put an air cleaner on it. When i brought it it didnt
have one and didnt run on. Is the engine running too rich or what?? Or is it the timing?? Any help is great!

PS. NSW rego rules SUCK!!! Pink slip, blue slip, green slip, whiteslip, brown slip, black slip, orange slip, engineer slip!!!

QLD is much easier to get regoed!

Usually the carb is rich and/or oil is being burned and turning to carbon on the pistons and/or valves. The heated carbon acts as a glow plug. You should have an anti dieseling
solinoid on your carb that shuts off the fuel when you shut off the ignition. I assume that it is working properly because your engine gets enough fuel as it is running.`Also check
your pcv valve.

I t could be an anti diseling solinoid
or have you cheaked your spark plug heat range if it's a to hot plug the end will glow red and still ignite the
fuel running in

Adjust your idle mixture screw and check for any vacuum leaks. Its probably too lean.
The anti dieseling solenoid cuts off the fuel to the idle circuit when you shut the car off. If this does not work your car will run normal when its cold and the choke is
operating AND when you're on the gas driving around. As soon as it warms up, it will not idle.
