Hey guys where do you hook up a inline elec fuel pump is it to the on Ignition or to a switch? it's going into a road car so i would think it would go to the ignition, it's low pressure and was told i shouldn't need a pressure regulator, it's going onto a A14 with 32/36 webber and then it will be running my L18 so how do i hook it up guys?

To IGN. I hooked mine up to the ballast resistor + side. I did not use a regulator, but the pressure should not exceed 5 lbs.

is the Ballast resistor the ceramic rectangle bit between your ign and coil?

I don't have an electric pump, yet. I did, however, add the wiring when I had the car in little pieces all over the garage.
I use a single-pole-double-throw oil pressure switch to turn mine on. If there is oil pressure the switch activates the pump. If there is no oil pressure, the dash light turns on and the pump shuts off. I've heard from some that they did this for safety, other say to save the engine in the event of a loss of oil pressure.
My dad added an electric pump to his van and we did this to keep the pump from flooding his engine while trying to start it.
I drew a small diagram of my set up because I knew I would forget where all the wires go. I'll try and scan it.

That's not a bad idea. You might have to turn the pump on before starting the engine if the engine has been sitting a few days. Depends on how well your carb keeps the bowl full.

Newer fuel-injected cars have a crash relay (usually in the trunk). If the car is hit, it cuts power to the fuel pump, in case the car is wrecked it won't pump fuel all over the street. This would probably be a simple thing to fit.

In NSW and I am sure most other australian states it is against the law for the fuel pump to be able to continue operating once the engine has stoped.
( For saftey reasons incase of an accident and fuel continues to be pumped out and become a hazard)
So as previously mentioned use the oil switch or you can use the alternator to activate the pump.
( Although many modified cars aren't wired like this, it is still illegal for it not to be.)

Ange's circuit should work pretty well.

The big thing with electric pumps is to make sure that the existing fuel line can supply the volume. Many are only 4 or 6 mm, and as soon as you have an engine that is modified and delivering more HP, of course it needs more fuel---- the answer is to use 8 or 10 mm fuel tube rear to front.

Just remember, more HP = More Fuel

That way, you MIGHT get away with the electric pump supplied by an after market supplier. If necessary, use two of these pumps in parallel.

If your engine starts to run lean at high RPM/Load because the petrol pump is not man enough for the job, then the result will be disastrous, and damn quick at that.

Petrol, in this case is like money. You can't have too much of it and you can only spend on what you need.

The stock lines and a single low-pressure fuel pump will feed an A14 with Weber carb.
