Hey guys, i know there is so much stuff already on here about conversions but i have to ask anyway.. What would be the cheapest and most effective conversion for the 1200.. Considering it has to be naturally aspirated.. I just want to have a nice bit of power but dont want to spend a ridiculous amount eg 10k.

If you want real value for money,[you did say 'cheapest'] then an A14/15 engine, combined with a 3.9 to 1, differential from a Stanza or a series 1 or 2 Bluebird, or even a 3.7 to 1 diff from a Bluebird will have you singing your Datsun's praises even more loudly. Even in stock trim, you will appreciate the additional torque that these engines produce.

More bang for buck than anything else you could name & a job that's dead easy to do.
In fact, if you can buy a whole Sunny wagon, you can use the engine, trans & radiator, & still have the front end to do an upgrade later on.
If it is one of the A15 powered wagons, then drop me a line & I will buy the differential.[It won't fit your axle housing & is smaller & weaker anyway]

Yeh Value for Money would be what im after...How do the 4AGE's go in the datto's ? Also how many KW could i get from an a15 ?

my mate has a 4age powered ute it goes really good,best thing about that conversion is u can throw a 4agze when ur allowed with not to much fuss,then when ur bored with that throw a turbo kit on that! .

See i would love the 4agze but i got the new nsw p plater rules no turbo's, v8's or supercharges untill i have my full license Oh well aslong as it saves some lives..
How much would i be looking at for a 4age conversion ?

a 4age conversion would probably cost about the same as a ca18 conversion which is $7-8k depending how much you can do your self

Have you considered a NA SR20?
No turbo, but more cubes & heaps of potential to massage for more HP later.

a15 is the cheapest and most cost effective... get it to handle and brake and for around 2k you will be happy.
