hey,
i m looking at '70s cars, and was wondering whether any of you experts out there could give me info in terms of - what would you pay for a late '79 model 120y which has had a some reconditioning and done under 300. km? also, does anyone have advice on how easy replacement parts are to find for this model? cheers

price depends on alot of things, what sorta prices have you seen them for?

as for replacement parts...its a datsun...the parts dont really need to be from a 120y

thanks for your reply

hmm the one im looking at is going for <$1500 -

apparently it s in pretty good nic in terms of no oil / radiator fluid leak. the guy said the brakes might need to be done, n it s probably due for a full service soon... i ve yet to have a look at it for myself - do you recommend any particular things i should watch out for?

uh yeah, just remembered another question - is there an alternative to putting the lead substitute for leaded cars? what would happen if straight unleaded fuel was put in

for $1500 better come with roadworthy cert and some reg.

Can tune it to unleadead but will run fine on 95 octance or 98 as they have a form of lead replacement inthem already (98 definately does). wouldnt run it on 91 octane, would loose pwer and engine not built really for that low octane rating

i regualy run my on unleaded runs fine i think. i also run it on lawn mower petrol (2stroke) but that dosnt matter ether ,this is the 120y im talking about.

most important thing to look for is rust adn bog and stuff like that, mechanicals are a lot easier to replace than the body is
