i got a 1200 ute, it has a stock a12 engine and was wondering what you can do to that engine to give it mroe power....or is conversion best thing??

Datto engines love to rev, you can have great fun with just a few simple mods. Espically if your a beginner. A webber and a set of extractors will get you started. even a fresh head gasket wouldnt be a bad idea and can give you the chance to shave the head and maybe even a port job. (I would look for a GX head) if possible.
The next step would be rebuidling your motor or upgrading (A14/A15) and even twin cam turbo conversions for the Datto top guns.
Once you decide there is heaps of info here that will get you out of trouble.
