Hi all,
I appologise in advance if I have posted this in the wrong section. I don't really want to break the rules on my first post.

I have recently purchased a 120y to use as a daily driver. I have since converted it from an auto to a manual using parts that the previous owner had collected and left in the boot. My one problem though is that I seem to be missing a bracket or something similar for the clutch pedal to mount to. Currently all I have the clutch pedal attached to the car with is the pivot bush with a bolt throgh the middle to hold it on. Unfortunatly this setup allows for an inch or so of sideways movement of the clutch pedal. This is not too good when I find that I cannot fully depress the break pedal whilst my left foot is on the clutch.

If anyone out there has any info that could help rectify this it would be greatly appriciated.

hi mate i have recently done the same conversion

and it turns out that you need a diferent pedal box which contains a bracket for the clutch pedal,

If your 120y has a brake booster you need a pedal box to suit
.
Just say if you need more info
Cheers

Thank you both for your quick responses.

Pigdog, I will post pics as soon as I can find my camera. Moved house recently and haven't fully unpacked yet.

Juniorjay, What car did you pull the pedal box out of? A friend of mine has a wrecked sunny that still has the pedal box in it. Would it fit without too much modification. Unfortunatly he lives a couple of hours drive from me so would like to know before I rent a trailer and tow the Y up.

Thanks again..... Quote:

for straight bolt in you would need another 120y pedal box, one from a manual car obviously...but if the pedal is bolted in there then it may be a manual pedal box with something missing from it

I will have a look in the boot to see if there is a bracket of some sort that I have overlooked. Easilly done with my very back yard experience. Worse case I will head up to the mates place and see if the sunny pedal box can modified to fit. Thanks again

I'm very interested in the pedal box you have. How much are you willing to sell it for? Also is it from a brake boosted master cylinder or non brake boosted master cylinder. I am after the non brake boosted type. From searches on the forum it seems they are different.

Haven't seen a 120y without a brake booster before. That's not to say they don't exist. Ours was from a boosted one so possibly no joy there.

yeh i just done that to with a 120 that had no brake booster put booster type pedal box in.... your brake master cylinder wont bolt up so all you have to do to make is drill the two hole for the master cylinder in the firewall and put nut and bolts in... what i did was welded two bolts to the pedal box so that it is just the nuts to undo/ do up...quite easy fix if you cant/dont have the rite one
