One of my bolts/threads was stripped on the rear of the 1200 pickup.

What's the recommend torque spec? For stock steel wheels it is 65 ft-lb. I wonder if I should use the same for the alloys, they have a flat type nut, not tapered.

id say you would use the same specs, as the specs are for the stud/nut not the type of wheel you are using

they dont need to be done up stupidly tight, and only usually get wrecked when someone comes along with a rattle gun and just goes at them flat out...like tyre joints do

correct, i had to chisel one off a set of hotwires one time, also another time had to cut the nut off with an angle grinder, not fun, then had to chisel the last few mm to get it off. not fun replace wheel studs i find.

And my tyre guy always wonders why i insist doing them up by hand my self. been stuck in the middle of nowhere when you cant remove a wheel nut? i have, not nice.

I'm going with Nissan's torqe spec: 56 to 65 lb-ft. I don't want another stripped bolt.
