here's a tip..
undo to heater box... pull it back a bit.. (thats the trick bit) feed on some 1/2" silicone heater hose, try and use the 1000 fitting that goes on the head.. it's the one with a little kink in it..
not the 90 deg one.. works a treat.. can't use standard heater hose, it kinks..

no as in pull it back, fit the hose, and refit the heater..
it's near impossible to get the hose on in place..

Uh, I have my heater hoses running the opposite way, ie: my heater outlet goes into the back of the head and the inlet (drivers side) from the t join near the bottom of the rad at the front of the block. I am SORE after reinstalling my heater today ( lotsa weird contortions to put it back in) but it all works a treat so far. I wondered for a while which way it was to go back but this is the only way I could make it work and thought it must have been that way to begin with, Would this make much difference?

why not just use stright heater hoses and use the metal or brass 90deg bends?

cheap to use heater hose and cheap to get the t peices.

i plan on this method if i cant find the little hoses in the 1200.

it would be nice, but one of the heater pipes hides up inside the dash and it's got some short sharp bends to get out the hole.. (in the 1000)

The 1k inlet hose is the one that's tricky, it mounts from within the cab whilst the outlet from the engine bay. To mount the inlet from the back of the head I would need another bit of hose additional to old kinky runnin 180 degrees to join up, hence why I just ran the outlet to the rear. So The question remains what is the direction of flow for the heater loop? Does it matter which way round the hoses run?

Meh so Im pretty sure Ive got this the wrong way round, shouldn't make a difference If I leave the valve open, but hypothetically, what would be the ramifications if I shut it off?

not really, it's just water flow,
just make sure you operate the tap quite often, to make sure it doesn't seize up..
