hello guys....recently i have installed an oil cooler for my A15 engine...

my question is, is there any proper way of installation in terms of location of the oil cooler, above or below the level of the engine, sideway upside down and etc...

this is how i install the oil cooler in the engine bay..its a bit high location..is this the correct way?correct location? i found that my oil pressure normally is at 30psi idle and is dropping to 20psi after the oil cooler installed...when driving or revving its stays at 30psi.....is that normal??

got another problem after installing the oil cooler....i drove the car at normal speed(80km/h) and after a few laps, park the car and switch off the engine then about 2sec the exhaust got "pop" sound....is it becaoz of the oil cooler or its normal after having the oil cooler...temperature for engine oil is 82degree celcius and water temperature is 82degree celcius as well.....

That's pretty cold oil. I would run it at 93C/200F.

cooler can be mounted anyhwere, any orientation.

Oil pressure specification from Nissan
Quote:
From the 1973 factory service manual:

Oil pressure at idle (650 RPM ): 13-17 psi
...
Regulator opening pressure: 54-60 psi

What is normal? It is normal to not use an oil cooler. It is only needed for racing. In normal slow city and fast highway driving the A-series engine, the oil will not get overly hot if the engine coolant is kept cool.
