hey guys just wanted to know what this means when blue smoke fills my cabin and garage,

i know its gotta be oil burning off but what would cause this?

turbo, head valve seals, piston rings, i know these are the reasons but what would be the most likly cause.

i just recently just redone the headgasket n head, fires up straight away, but idles at 500 rmp and once i give it gas to get moving n once the revs drop it dies out?

any advise would be great cheers.

check oil ines to and from turbo first. easy to have a leak there.

is it using oil or head gaskety issues? sounds like its ideling low too.

did you do the gasket or get it done? any chance they put it on upside down like a series ones?

head was sent away n shaved, there are no oil leaks anyehere (no oil stains on the floor,i carnt tell if its using oil yet as i dont want to run it and do more damage.

it did over heat before which is why i fixed the head, could the damage be done from then,

i think it has low compression, all 90psi but im not sure if i did it right cheching it while running without fuel pump on and only on 500rpm, i carnt get the idle revs higher

the smoke is pretty bad it dose choke u in the cabin so somehing is not right.

Yea check the oil drain on the turbo. U might need to replace the gasket under the flange.

oil/smoke/fumes shouldnt be getting in the cabin... so you have a hole somewhere

typical for a car with headgasket just done to have residue water/oil in exhaust system which will take 30mins of driving to heat up and clear out

is it coming out the exhaust tip or from engine bay?

could be some oil dripped on to exhaust also, could be a lot of things, you really need to trace where its coming from... or if your reasonably confident its just left over oil etc then run it for 30 mins to see if it clears out

oh forgot to mention the exhast is not done yet i just have the dump pipe for now on, will the full exhaust system help the idle increase?

very sure no leaks are coming out anywhere, apart from the dumppipe, n clouding through the gearstick hole.

it used to have a BOV, not sure by me removing it made it lose pressure or decrease idle?

idle is simply set by a screw on the throttle body, the one the rotating throttle piece (cable is attached to) hits when it return to the normal position, if you want to change idle then just screw it up or down to achieve what you want

if the smoke is coming out the dump pipe then its either leaking seal in turbo, leak in cylinders in motor or if like me recently there is oil coming from the motor into the inlet in front of the turbo because of dodgey PCV valve/blocked air filter/no catch can

BOV could not affect any of this, no exhaust is certainly gonna make it run poorly and affect idle

i would pull the front hose off the turbo and check for oil there... if there is it's a problem with the breathing

have you been revving it up and getting it on to boost?

no exhaust shouldnt affect how it runs at all....it has a turbo it needs no exhaust after that

is the idle constantly low? or doesnt it rev up and down when idling?
mine used to have a crappy idle and then die if you got off the throttle quickly and i found that the BOV itself was leaking so the engine was getting lots of unmetered air. as soon as you put your hand over the outlet of the BOV it would idle fine
