Aight boys i have a really odd one with the ute atm.

What i have is that when going to start the ute is i turn the car over and it starts but as soon as i release the key from igition the car dies :(

Now i thought it could have been the new igition i put in awhile ago but i swapped out the ignition to the old one and having the same issue.

I have checked all the fuses and wiring harness and it shows to be good i have also checked that it is getting the correct fuel and spark. After checking that fuel is fine and spark shows to be good.

I can get the car started and is back firing a fair amount which may suggest bad timing but it should not be having this issue with the ignition

Anyone got an idea for me to check to resolve the issue, i am willing to try anything otherwise i guess ill need to take it to a auto electrician

So technically i should not need the ballast resistor is it possible to just plug the 2 resistor connections together to complete the circuit?

never mind boys, i just went out to the shed before work and followed the resistor cabling back along the lume into the car and found it was already joint together i removed the join in the connection and now it starts fine still a little poor on the running but seems just out of tune which can be easily fixed
