well my second rally has come up,
its on febuary the 8th in tolangi forest
called george woods

my dads not available this time round and ive got no one else, i was wondering if any of you blokes might like to learn navigating and come along and help me out

i need someone for this event and maybe others (my dad only does it cause i have no-one else)

this will pretty much be my first rally after navigation problems and confusing signs meant we only did one stage the first time, therefore i will not be driving full speed as i am in-exeperienced at competing

one major catch, i dont have a roll cage yet, this will also mean i will be taking it reasnobly easy but there is an added danger there

so yeah anyone interested in coming along and navigating for me?

you will need $20 to join a car club and $50 for a temporary cams licence, any other money for fuel and stuff would be good but not necesary

let me know if your interested and we may be able to sought out any dramas you may have

cheers,
Michael

no worries thanks, ive got 2 navs now

i got an offer from someone else on the site who will prob do it if not working, and my brother had a fire under his rally cars (mk. 1 escort) bonnet after the fuel line caught fire when he was welding the drivers floor, so hes suddenly free that weekend too

but yeah theres one in march and april aswell so well see what happens, maybe ill even have a cage then

What worries me is how you can compete in a rally without a roll cage. I thought it was an FIA requirement for ALL rally cars (even at club level) to have at least a main hoop and 2 rear stays. Please don't take me the wrong way here, I am all for making it as easy as possible for young, enthusiastic people to join the sport but in my mind I reckon you would be crazy to compete in a car without a cage. A basic roll cage is not expensive....a life is.
