Hi all.
I would like anyone to please give me advice on what I can do to my 1200GX head to get more pep out of it.
It is currently a standard GX head.
I would still like to keep the head reliable.

I am thinking of only match porting and cleaning up the ports of rough edges.
Maybe fitting then A14 valves if my budget allows it.It is also going to get a 276 cam. Thanks

Match porting and cleaning of rough edges is a good idea. I think the valves from the a14 are the same size as a12, but the a15 has larger valves, someone please correct me if i'm wrong. One thing to consider when porting a head is the position of things such as water or oil pockets or galleries as you don't want to run into these.

That is why I want to do only a mild match porting and cleanup inside.
As it is a GX head, I do not want to mess it up.(Waterchannels,etc...)
It is not going to be done by me.A mechanic is going to do it for me on a flowbench.

Can anyone please give me advice on not hitting anything like waterchannels,etc....?
Is it possible to maybe leave the GX head standard and only add a 276 cam or will it not be much of a score only with the cam.I have read that the GX head is already good enough as it came from the factory...
