Hi Guys....

I'm looking to replace the standard 12" rims with 13's. It seems 13 x 5.5" are mostly available, but I'm concerned about clearance issues, etc.
I don't want to use spacers, nor modify my calipers, ie something that bolt in and drives away.

are 5.5" rims fine or am I going to have problems ? 185/60 tyres will be fitted.

Thanks in Advance

They should be fine - always just make sure the rolling diameter stays the same that way your speedo will still stay acurate. This will change depending on your tyre profile.
I've actually got a set of 13x5.5's in the corner of the garage that used to be on the ute

Thanks Buff...

the RD will be staying the same... 155R12 (actually they are 155/80R12) have the same RD as 185/60R13. Actually, it is 0.83mm different but that's nothing !

Thanks for the help. I won't have to roll guards or anythng, will I ?

I wouldn't imagine so - not with 5.5's. If its standard ride height then I'd say definately not if its been lowered then depending how far you may benefit getting the guards lipped.

Just stick'em on and take it from there i believe they are a good vehicle as far as guard clearance goes.

well I won't tell you about the $2500 christmas bonus from work then either !!!!
I assume spending wisely means spending on a Datsun !!
After the rims comes finishing off the interior (custom parcel shelf for audio, door trims, reupholsterd seats), some rust work, a little thing called an A14 and a new paint job ! I just finished deadening the undercarraige this weekend so it is all coming together !

Once I've made some progress on the 120Y, I can get back to the other toy, my XR2 Turbo convertible !!
