We do not have proper wrecking yards here. Cars are striped and shipped out for compacting. Space is at a premium and the good wrecking yards have become condos!
I'm building a Locost 7 (lotus 7 replica) and need a transmission. I perfer the 56 series because it is light, and I am running an A12a engine and don't expect more than 100hp out of it. with the car weighing less than 1000 lbs. it should be enough.
Second choice is a 60 series 5 speed.

I've got 4 x 56a gears boxes including one with a super close ratio kit in it, i'm in Auckland NZ and can arrange shipping if you get stuck.

I've never seen a 56-series 5-speed in my life, I think you'll have to talk to (ex) Datsun racers to find one. Maybe search for pjz on this site and email him with your question.
All the Datsun 1200s came with 56-series 4-speeds, so that should be easy to find.
