Hi there

I am a newbie here...

Just about to fit some 40mm DCOE's to my good mates A15 engine i built for his 1200 ute.. Just wanting to ask what sort of choke sizing and jets to roughly start with??
They have 30mm chokes in std with .155" jets from memory...

Engine is a fairly mild setup consisting of ported head, std valve, upgraded camshaft (dont have specs on me i think it is 240/240 @ 110 lobe based at .050", forged pistons .020" o/size, std rods with ARP bolts, fully balanced engine, comp approx 10:1.. etc etc...

Will be used for street only....

Should i start it up and try with what i have?? The carbs are brand new!!! Any thing i need to look out for???

Any help would be great

If chokes are 30 mm, 155 mains are way too big.

A start point for street use would be
F15 emulsion tubes with 120 mains and 165 - 170 airs. Use 4.5 auxiliary vents to bring mains on a bit later and help keep on progression a bit longer with the 45F9 idle jets. This will help economy.

You should have 40 pumps.
Hope this helps.

The airs sound a bit large but may suit your setup (cam head etc)
From here its a suck and see I think.
