Howdy fellas, picked up my new wheel studs and spacers from Bursons today (i recommend these guys highly) and just wondering, should i just bang them in with a hammer and set the thread in there or is there another way?

And also i need to take the rear axle shaft ass. to fit the new studs & it says in my manual to use the 'Rear axle stand & Sliding Hammer'. Now obviously i dont have one of these so ive tried pulling quite hard but to no avail, is there something i missed?
Ive undone the 4 bolts holding the back plate to the axle, disconected brake lines, handbrake.... so what now?

Cheers
Dave

What size spacers did ya get?
when i remove rear axles i just put the brake drum on the wrong way facing out and put the nuts on a few turns so it holds on and usning some wood inbetween lighty tap it with a hammer working around the drum untill the axle pops out.

you can cut a hole in the back of the drum to aloow fitment of the long studs...I couldnt get the axles out of the H165 for the life of me....I used similar to a slide hammer and almost pulled the car off the jack stands.

NickZ i ordered some 8mm spacers from Bursons which work thru NiceProducts, $20 for 2 soo pretty good price.

Right so i should just keep working at it and banging with a hammer right? Coz its bloody hard and just doesnt want to come out!! Im afraid if i pull any harder the car will come off the stands!! Now that would be tragic

And fitting the studs? Just bang them on?>

Cheers
Dave
