I'm having trouble with the timing for my 120y. It runs 32/36 dgav and was jetted and tuned 6 months a go by a carby place. I recently changed part of the ignition system and decided that i would check the timing as well. It was way out of manufactures specs of 5-7deg and was more like 30deg @ 1100rpm. I corrected it back down to 7'ish and leaned off the carby mixture and reduced the idle speed to 800rpm. It seemed to idle fine but not as smooth as i wanted. Took it for a drive the next day and found that it was getting bogged down. The bloody thing took forever to accelerate upto 2500rpm. I richened up the mixture and it seemed to help, but not much. I ended up setting the timing to 10deg @ 800rpm but have found it to still be a slug.
What am i suppose to do, increase the timing even more and let it idle higher?
It would accelerate a hell of lot better before i played with the timing, but it wouldn't hold the revs below 800rpm.

Any help would be much appreciated.
cheers gino

the webber book recomends 10-14 deg advance at an idol between 800-1100 rpm..... with my auto a series i tune the idol with it in gear then when you put it in nuteral or park the revs will jump to around 1100rpm but your never in neutral so it dosnt matter
