im building a datsun 1000 ute and im trying to build up a gx type of motor. i know twin su's arnt the best thing to tune but i want to keep it all sort of original. so far ive got A14 block, a15 pistons & crank (stroker a14)a12gx head thats had i think a15 valves put in it (maybe a little smaller but bigger valves than the A12gx valves, ported, (done by J.T.S) A12gs twin su's, extracors, electronic dizzy. mildish cam (havnt got it yet). i hope to maybe get 100hp if i use thermo fan ect.. were do i source the parts (needles ect..) to get them tunned perfect?

If the needles are not bent and they slide up and down freely they will probably be fine.

The Hitachis are easy to tune even for the novice, twelve inches of garden hose is all you will need to balance them by ear.

If the needles are bent Stewart Wilkins should be able to set you up with some spares.

the best place to try for needles & such would be SU Midel here at lakemba in Sydney.they are SU dealers & have reproduced some parts for
Hitachi carbs as there is a demand for such.you can try their web site of www.sumidel.com or call them on 02-9759-5598.they appear to be closed on w/ends,which is a bugger,as i want to get one of their big air cleaners for twin webers.ironically i work at greenacre, which is 5 minutes down they road, but can't get away from work during lunch,as i don't seem to get lunch much these days.

Would it be possible to get a late model Nissan Micra, fit the 1.8 litre motor from a Tiida & then turbocharged it? Your answer must include parts numbers for the conversion. You have 12 months. Commence.
