As far as I can tell, there never was a Datsun 1200 ute with auto trans, so finding a driveshaft will be difficult.
I think you will need to find a one piece driveshaft from L series powered model that used an H165 rear end.

The wagon models of the 1600, 180B would be candidates, & I suspect that the later model, facelifted, 200B's with the Warner box & diff still use the same slip yoke & pinion flange pattern, so the choices are there.

All of the first generation of 200B [pre facelift] with the live rear axle used a two piece driveshaft.

Naturally you will need to have it shortened to the right length to make it work. I don't know if the later 910 Bluebirds used a one piece driveshaft or two piece but they are worth a look.

I got Jeff Lagerwey Tailshafts in Ferntree gully (9758-4015) to cut mine down. He charged about $150 from memory which included 2 new unis.

Try a 180b sedan tail shaft, depending on how your L series is mounted you may not even need to chop it. I had a ute diff in my two door with the CA and a gazelle box, the 180B shaft bolted straight in. Cheers. Adam.

i have delt with them and wouldnt let them work on my wheelbarrow, let alone my datto

i have a cut down auto stanza tailshaft in my ute...

auto ute (if they were made) would have been perfect as auto 1200 ones work nicely with where most L series sit, as im using a ute diff i would have needed an auto tail shaft that would have suited the length of what a ute auto tailshaft would have been

ive tried a 180b one, it was too short
tried a bluebird one, about 1.5 inches too long
have yet to find a stanza one to try, might be right

but after being stranded arfter my brothers corolla killed one of the unis, i thought id try to go for something that had nicely size unis
