major air suck in carby why? how?

ive put a #### load of carby cleaner down the throat of my pickup now i have a major air sucking sound coming from the carby .theres no diffrence in idle or performance .if i hold my hand 3/4 over carby throat it quitens down but why is is this so

Maybe you just didn't notice it before? All carburetors work on the suck-through principle (they can be forced into blow-through scenarios, but it is not normal).

Without an air cleaner the sucking sound should be fairly loud.
