hey guys, on thurs night i went cruzin with a mate in his s13 CA n/a auto lol. was coming up this hill and just as we got over the hill 5 metres in front or us was a T junction. i sreamed out right to turn right, and from the on in i have no clue what went on. i remember waking up trapped in the passengers seat with the front left wheel in my foot well. i slipped my shoes off and got out. we had slide straight into a giangantic stobbie poll. i had knocked my head on the foor window and knocked my self ou so iwas pretty dazed. we had hit the pole at about 55 as we entered the t section at 60. Both my mate and i walked away with a scratch on my leg and had and mild concushin. the fire man said if the pole was half a metre to the back of the car i wouldnt be walkin or dead. i consider myself very very lucky.

what have you guys experienced.

I'd say you are very lucky to escape relatively unharmed from that. Worst i've done is roll my old 120Y at about 20km/h. Didnt get hurt just tipped the car back over and drove off

holy crap! thats bad
i hit a pile of cinderblocks at 70mph in my '81 210 convertible
put the driv'er's tire/wheel THROUGH the fenderwell and caught my ankle between it and the clutch pedal
i limped it home after chaining the control arm to the bumper support
the left side axle tube was bent and it shattered both left side wheels

Good to hear that all is ok (except for the car). Would have been death in a 1200.

A lot of inexperienced drivers don't think about 'whats over the hill', or' whats around that blind corner'. Or 'will that kid run out onto the road'. Driving is more than who is right and wrong. It's about identifying hazards and avoiding them. Getting from A to B is merely an effect of avoiding hazards successfully. Same rules on the racetrack.

Enough ranting from me.

I've never crashed at speeds above 10kmh Always low speed bingles, typical for Sydney. So I have no interesting learning experiences to share.
