Hey guys, tried searching but couldn't find any info on what these weigh.
How do the compare to something like a hilux, i know hilux diffs are bloody heavy, and was looking for a lighter alternative thats still strong.
Are they 7.5" or 8" ?
Cheers
Nick

Commodore/Skyline BW78 diffs are quite heavy. The 28 spline ones with discs are over 80kgs. I can barely lift them, I need help to move them about. The 25 spline diffs in Falcons and 6 cylinder Commodores are almost as heavy. Maybe 5-10kgs lighter.

If you want to have a powerful car.. you need a strong diff. And unless you use Formula 1 race parts, strong=heavy.

Hope this helps.

Chris

Damn, I was hoping they weren't as heavy as hilux diffs, they are around the 80Kg mark as well.
But Like you said, what can you do. I don't really want to re-engineer the rear end several times until i find something that doesnt break!

Cheers

the best part about the 28 spline borg warner diff is,the PCD on the axles and have rear disks, you can use other borg warner parts and interchange them, mine is made for a pintara housing (25 spline) pintara 4.11 crown and pinion, LSD hemi is from a VN V8 commonhore, and R31 skyline axles, and pintara brakes and rotors (same as R31)
