Sorry to hear about it. The 1400 Nissan bakkie is also VERY high on the car thiefs list here in South Africa. Plainly easy to steal and parts are always in demand.
Goodluck finding it.

This sounds bad but did you have your car painted at the same shop?.................
its not hard to get keys cut when they have them. and also you said that it was booked in to get an alarm installed, Did the Auto electrician or installer have your home address?.........
It happened to a mate of mine years back booked in for an alarm and the night before it gets stolen. they linked it back to an employee of the installation company.
just a few areas to look into. I know it sucks to have cars stolen so I feel for you and hope you have some luck tracking down the low life scum who think its OK to steal some ones pride and joy.

Homer's on the money, check out those sources (or tell the cops to check 'em out). Hate to say it, but you'll probably never see it again. Being a rarer car it's noticeable on the road. It's probably already in a million pieces, I just hope your insurance company doesn't stuff you around.

On another note, there was a thread up a little while back baggin' cops for searching cars, fining people, etc. Funny how when something like this happens they're a godsend. People obviously have mixed perceptions on the matter when it affects them personally. Not saying anyone in this thread is guilty of it, just a thought.
