Hi, not being a Datsun owner I am not familiar with the action of a Wiper Switch I bought from ebay.
I was told it was a 120Y switch that had an Intermitant setting Plus two speed and a water spray.

It twists then pulls out to two positions.

This is the description from the ebay listing:
"You are looking at a datsun 120Y coupe sedan or wagon Wiper switch assembly In excellent condition. this part looks almost new and comes with the control knob. I think this switch is an intermitent wiper switch as it has a balast resistor down 1 side.this has been stored for 20 years and was stored as a good working unit. The best you could ever get. "
can anybody help?

I can send you a photo of it if you send me your email, as I cannot load a picture on this thread. (please somebody tell me how!)Thanks Oli

I have never seen one with intermitten wipers.

the twist is for the spray and the two "pull" settings for fast and slow.

Mike the twist is a set position not a momenary thing and you can't access the two pull out positions until the twist has been set (?) Confusing.

From the pic, you appear to have scored yourself a headlight switch with dashlight dimmer and the added bonus of it being fitted with a wiper knob.

Once you pull it out the 2 positions, can you once again twist the knob?

Yes, you can but it is also a FIXED position, NOT a momentary action.
