do all a series gear boxes fit fit the a12 and a15 motors?

i have an a15 and i need a gear box badly, my mate has a a12 gearbox, will it fit??

However the 56A series gearboxes were nice & light & well suited to the A12 engines. They were not used behind the A14/15 engines for good reason, but if you drive it with your head & not so much of your foot, it should last reasonably well.
