installing gauge,, help please!

hey people, i am currently installing a mechanical water temperature gauge in my 1200 ute which is running A12 i, need to know were to install the temperature probe, some people say to install it after the heater inside the cab using a tee section and others say to install it next to the water pump and take out the thermosat and replace it with the gauge probe, i dont know if i should replace the thermostat with the gauge probe because the original warning light runs of it,, any help appreciated , thanks in advance

install it where the factory probe is installed into the head just above/ infront of No 1 spark plug

for the OEM type ?? used to be years ago.
for an after market i think it depend on the guage maker ? i run autometer and the probe, wire and guage are all one unit ... you just have to get adapter to fit the head

yeah, the standard one.
my head is missing its one, need to get one and hoping auto barn or repco(ugh) might keep that sort of thing on the shelf

yeh the standard temp sender is easily availiable. i think its the same as some honda too? You need the retaining collar too if you dont have it! Donno if you can buy one of em tho
