1977 Datsun 120Y PRICE $1500
The car was first registered when purchased brand new on 5/5/78 here in Murwillumbah (NSW North Coast). The original owner kept the vehicle until 22/10/2008. In this time it had done ONLY 78,000 km, and has always been garaged. It has been regularly serviced, and still has the original books. The car was only sold because the owner relinquished her licence due to her age. (Well into her 90's).
I purchased the car (from my neighbour's mother) in order to have an extra vehicle while we had Canadian visitors for a couple of months.
The vehicle has now got a total speedo reading of 84766 km. This includes a trip to Sydney/Bathurst/Dubbo and back.) The car performed faultlessly for us, has been garaged continuously, and is now being sold as the visitors have gone home.
The vehicle is amazingly original, even has the original AM radio, seats, paperwork, books, and number plates. It is not pristine, it has not been done up, it has had rust cut out in the past, has minor dingles in the body and has a crack in the dash vinyl top.
The car is a 1977 GL 4 door manual sedan, white with a black vinyl roof. It is registered until 5/5/2009, It has 3 brand new tyres, and 2 tyres that have heaps of tread but are very old. (A testament to its genuine useage). It is mechanically sound and reliable in every way, and performed absolutely faultlessly for us. I have no doubt it would pass for rego. but is being sold as is with rego. as stated.
I am not a car enthusiast, but it would seem to me it would be ideal for someone genuinely interested in this type of vehicle.
