hey everyone stripped down my A14 the other day to find it is all in relatively good nick considering i got the engine for free. all we could find was cylinders 2 and 3 have watermarks in them, tops of pistons are also corroded from water laying in there but looking at new pistons anyway(are there any flat top pistons available?). when trying to remove the front timing chain cover it snapped as one of the studs was corroded and didnt want to budge but on closer inspection one of the water galleys was way to thin compared to the rest of the cast thickness. so this leads to a few quetions can an a12 cover be used on an a14 and also is the a14 and a12 sump the same as mine i a little dinted??

the timing covers all fit, and you'll have to check the oil pickup when swapping sumps..:)
