Hi,

I'm trying to install my sway bar and I think I got it the right way around (dip part going down - away from pulleys).

And for some reason the eyelet where the link bolts too seems way to missaligned. Hard to explain but on the jack the link shaft/bolt has to be flexed heaps for it to pass thorugh the sway bar hole and even then the bushes on the sway bar ends are in a crooked way. So when the link bolt it tightend the bushes dont compress evenly but more like on a 20 degree angle.

It just doesnt seem right.

What is the propler orientation of the sway bar in a B310 (stock way bar) and whats the proper way/sequence of installing it?

I'm pretty sure the standard mounting points are basically the same as this?

Mine only differs in that the front bar instead of being straight, doglegs to miss sump. So should look very similar. From what I remember there will be some flex to get it in.
You can see mine are on a slight angle also, pretty sure the old one was too.

Be sure the car is jacked up evenly. If one side is a bit higher than the other, the sway bar is on torsion and cannot be replaced.

That pic looks nothing like my B310 sedan sway bar!?

My link rod has 4 bushes (2 around swaybar end and 2 on either side of the control arm with a bolt going thorugh the lot.

Maybe my bar is out of another car lol thats why it doesnt fit right.

Like I can install the bar into the pivot bushes just fine. The links can be installed too - its just that the hole though the sway bar end doesnt point towards the hole in the control arm meaning the bushes sit crooked against it.

Originally, before I removed my sway bar it was set up like this...

Not a B310 picture but thats how the bar was connected to the control arm.

My setup is like this.

But the hole in the end of the sway bar points to the number 1 in the drawing, not towards the hole in the control arm.

All sorted.

Much easier to install (maybe only way to install) is to have wheels on the ground compressing the suspension - not jacking up under the X member and having them hang in the air!
