Original DVD, approximately 70 minutes long. This is amateur footage of what is possibly the largest gathering of Datsuns and Nissans in North America, which took place on September 9, and 10, 2011 at the Watkins Glen racetrack and the Village of Watkins Glen. There were approximately two hundred Datsun 1200 Roadster, 1500 Roadster, 1600 Roadster, and 2000 Roadster models, also Datsun 510, 240Z, 260Z, 280Z, 280ZX, Nissan 300ZX, and 350Z models as well as several Datsun sedans. The cars shown were made between 1961 and about 2008.
The events on September 9 included several laps around the Watkins Glen racecourse with all of the previously mentioned models. The video camera was recording during the high-speed time on the track. After the track event all of the Datsun and Nissans were on display for a Concours show and all of these cars appear on this video as well. Later that day, all of the cars went into the Village of Watkins Glen and had another car display in a park and again they all appear on this video.
The next day, September 10 begins with a small assembly of Datsun Roadsters near the Watkins Glen State Park and they are all shown, many with their hoods up. That afternoon, many of the Datsuns and Nissans participated in a sports car show at the track. There were also many Datsun and Nissan vintage racecars and many of these are shown in the pits as work is being done on them.
One of the highlights of this DVD is a long discussion and question and answer period by Bob Sharp. Unfortunately, this takes place in the pits with many loud racecars in the background and some of his comments are difficult to hear because the loud noise.
Again, I want to stress that this is an amateur video and has not been edited in any way. If you are a Datsun Nissan fan, you will absolutely enjoy this DVD!
