I have recenty aquired a 5 speed dog-leg gearbox, with final ratio 1:1. It has a hydraulic slave cylinder. The physical size of the box is BIG but bolts directly to an A-series block with a large spline and clutch. Maybe 6 cylinder internals. Output shafts are BIG (maybe 260z). Its a nissan box. Does anybody know the origin of this box. And NO, its not for sale.

are you sure you don't want to sell it,eh?ok,it sounds like it's something like a 5 speed out of a 180b sss with the bellhousing from an a14 gearbox, but that's only a guess.it could be something the japanese engineers made purely for racing.someone was selling something similar recently on ozdat, was this it.should take some horsepower then.anyone else want to make a guess.remember, just say no!

Thanks for the reply b310gx. Yes I am sure, really, really sure (no sale) and no, its not the one from ozdat. I was talking to a guy from my local car club, he remembers something about these boxes about 10 years ago. He said they may come from a american released van with and a15 in it??? (I don't know how reliable this information is). I'll measure the box up and post the dimensions, these could help.
