Thanks for the info I shall check it out!
Yeah I've got a VB10 1000 wagon!
For my front brakes I used XD Falcon : disks, calipers, stub axles and top and bottom ball joints! it was straight forward to fit the ford ball joints ( just a bit of dye grinding and re-drilling). The stub axles were the same length from ball joint to ball joint and the steering arm is in the right position. the only thing required was the ford tierod holes were to big so I am welding them up and having them re-drilled to take the 1000 tierod from the bottom ( this will make sure the steering arm is in the correct position and bump steer will be eliminated )
One other thing that was required was the part of the cross member that mounts the bump stop was cut off and the bump stop repositoned on the old crossmember bolt.
( the ends of the cross member were reworked to provide strength for the parts that were removed )( the crossmember was cut to provide clearance for the brakes when turning)
This brake conversion altered the front wheel offset and requires 15" wheels
( I had 14" wheels remade to the correct offset but they hit the calipers because of this offset! so I just put the 15"s)
So that I have 4 the same wheels, I fitted a narrowed XD diff to the 1000.
The master cylinder is a 1200 twin cylinder and I fitted a remote booster under the dash!
These brakes might sound like a lot of work but atleast they willn't have to be upgraded again!
Now I just have to finish the rest of the car!
When I get around to it that is!
