Is there a way to put HTML tables into a post? If so, how?

When posting in the Photo Album, it says this, which doesn't seem to work:

    OK, I see how to do it in the Photo Album now (uncheck box for 'disable html'), but it only works in the Preview.

    In the tech section, it actually works but there is a large spacing above the table ... see example.

    How does this work in the forum posts?
