Okay so I am lowering my 120Y and its going to be very very low.

i made my front coil-overs with golf mark1 strut inserts (100mm aprox shorter than the 120y/1200 shocks) and s13 camber tops !

so its already 100mm shorter with my shortend struts lol.

im going to reset the rear leafs and i need to sort out what shocks im going to use!!

just wondering if anyone has done something similar or now what shocks are compatible and if 120y/1200 have the same rear shocks??

For the rear it doesn't matter, because the stock shocks won't bottom out even if the suspension does

If you lower the rear 3", the suspension will be riding on the bump stops

well my friend has a 120y wagon and lowered it the exact same way as me, and his rear shocks #OOPS# them selves so he had to get new ones, but his mate had some hks shocks lying around ( not sure if they are 120y or from another car) and he put them in and it works finee now

so im scared that my shocks will do the same lol.

Yes, if you remove the bump stops, then the shocks will bottom out. Not a good idea

What most do is cut the bump stops in half but this only lowers the car about 2-1/2 inches (with bump stops removed about 3" but then there is zero suspension left). Along with the shorter bump stops:
* Sedan: fit shocks with a shorter compressed length
* Coupe: with lowering blocks, stock shocks work with extreme lowering
* Coupe: with reset spring, fit shocks with a shorter compressed length

Coupe uses a very small mounting stud

To get it lower the chassis rails can be notched and/or spring eye reversed. Then the shorter shocks are definitely required

i have 13inch starsharks and i want them to be flush with the gaurd

i have attached a photo of my friends old 120y which had 13ich ssr mk3 rims and thats pretty much how low i want to be

he had the same coilover setup as me but he flipped the rear leafs and it was a really uncomfortable drive apparently and this is going to be my daily so i want it to be nice to drive (his rear shocks #OOPS# them selves so i definitely need new shocks lol)

With new shorter shocks, it will still be uncomfortable, as it will be riding the bump stops (which are a removable part of the sedan shocks) or it will be hitting the chassis rail. See Sedan Lowering Shocks

so what is your recomendation?

Lower it first, with the original unmodified shocks, then see how much suspension travel is left
* If there is none, you have to decide how to modify it, maybe notch the chassis and reverse-eye the leaf
* If there is 1/2" left, you can changed the shock out for Sedan Lowering Shocks to gain another 1/2"

1" suspension travel isn't much but will ride OK on smooth roads
